The postcard was posted in Portland Harbour in Dorset, England, in May 1911 to a Mr ans Mrs Stripe, 28 Cambridge Street, Somers Road, Southsea, Hampshire: "Arrived in Portland at 10 o/c. Will be leaving at 5.30 tomorrow & come in same day. Will write and catch first post in the morning. With love & best wishes, G.G. Elson."
